S&S Make their debut to a fledgling PC world ....
Star Trek: The Promethean Prophecy is much more Star Trek then
Kobayshi Alternative. The game starts with Kirk you the player on
the Bridge cruising alone at warp 2. Then out of nowhere as you slow
to sub-light speed as you enter the Promethean Star System. Your
deflector shields pop on from a proximity alert of a unknown ship
fires on the Enterprise. Then all hell breaks lose and your crew
fight for survival and then ship is gone in a flash. As Kirk you
strive to find Mister Spock who has been trapped below decks just
then the second attack happens and rocks the ship.
This
attack is much worse then the first one was just as this attack is
under way Mister Spock makes it to the Bridge. And try s to starts
his scans on they attacking unknown ship and discovers there are two
targets on tactical. Then adjust Phasers to the Data Image for all
weapons when in range. You as Kirk then fires all weapons on data
image and it is a direct hit on this ship. The you find out that
this ship is Romulan and he wants Kirk dead for the death of his
son. After a brief talk on the view screen the Romulan starts his
self destruct and the Bird of Prey is gone.
The Spock informs you of the massive damage all over the ship and
Phaser coolant has leaked into the food supply and all of it is
contaminated. So you must unravel the mystery of the Promethean
Culture and find an adequate food source before the crew starves.
You can move freely though dozens of settings and take and
manipulate objects and converse with the characters human and alien
that you meet.
You go though the game with things like this Set Phaser to Stun
Spock scan for life signs in the area.
With that in mind you must move around in different settings and
solve so many puzzles. From firing Phasers at a 50 foot Sand Lizard
to stealing robes and hiding in huge metal cooking pots. All along
being Stalked by an unknown Alien who sees all you do and who is the
leader on this world. In the short version of this review the game
can and does understand over 1,000 words. Any true Trek fan would be
proud to play this game at least once in there life. But I will say
this the game is hard and I did not complete this game. I would say
I had about 85 percent of it solved but could not find the answer to
this game. If you would like to try it go ahead and look for it on
this site.
