ok good for you, but i was referring to the fact that there aren't that many amongst us that can afford to pay for all this MMORPG's and certainly not all at the same time

Honestly, if you think about it, if we could afford it would we? I mean, if we could afford it, that means we'd all have jobs (like that's ever gonna happen), and would probably be working our arse off to make enough to play, then we'd be so tired from work that we'd probably come home and crash until time to go to work again. We wouldn't have time for playing because we'd be working to make the money to play. HAHA

Lucas Arts may make good Star Wars games, but it doesn't mean they could handle the Star Trek community just as well. I would say the Star Trek community is more demanding. Also, I am sure there are some Star Wars games that haven't lived up to scratch?

that's not what he meant. me means that Paramount sound try to setup somthing LIKE LucasArts. Where they can have control of the games, and they'll turn out better in the end.

I see. But with Star Trek it is different. Doesn't George Lucas dictate where Star Wars is going, and his company is the one that makes the games. With Star Trek you can't really do that. Rick Berman controls where Star Trek is going and people don't like that. Also, I don't think Viacom own any big game producers/developers with the experience that is needed to make games we will appreciate.

May be it is something that will happen in the future. Gaming seems to be making more and more money from us. The rumour mill even suggested Viacom was about to buy EA.

hmmmmm... that would be.... different.. EA makes mostly sports games, not really known for high action games. From what I've seen they do make some good games, it would be interesting to see what will happen

hmm you know a trek game that would finally live up to the expectations would be so awsome, so start hoping a major miracle and some extra minor ones

I think Star Trek gaming is d00med. I think Star Trek in general is d00med.

Enterprise barely manages to scrape along. Games based around Enterprise wouldn't sell.

24th Century Star Trek has reached it's limits for gaming without a series to tether the game to.

As for ST Online - I don't know. I absolutely hate the idea of paying for a game more than once.  I just wish the majority of gamers shared my feelings.

I think a hybrid BC/EF game is needed. Give us the maximum extent of Star Trek possible. Star Trek wasn't just about ships or away teams, it had both... a lot.

I also wish Star Trek games had a little less fighting and a lot more diplomacy.

Outside of Bridge Commander and Elite Force 2, it's unheardof to have an enemy turn into an ally. I think, through diplomacy, that very thing should happen.

I mean, just look at US/Japan relations and the evolution there of in the past century.

Some are saying Nexus is a perfect blend of SFC and BC. Its out in the UK but not in the US. Apparently its easy to mod and comes with mod tools. I have seen scree shots of ST mods of it and it looks awesome. Sounds like it has more micro manegment that got left out of SFC3. If you ask me the future a Trek gaming is people modding non-Trek games. Non-trek games are usually much better than Trek games because companies have to sell there game with ni prior fan base, so the product has to be high. Where as many games for ST rely on dupes like us ST fans to jump on just because its trek.
