I know what you mean and well you're both right the head of state should always be respected except for hitler and a few others of course.

But...
The newsman is a hero and should be given a medal and his shoes should be returned of course.

And...
That pan fried jerk water red neck got his just reward, has to be another historical moment first U.S. President to have not one but two shoes thrown at him, should have been the whole frikkin shoe store...my own opinion of course.hehehehehehehhe

I suppose one could say he left office on the shoe leather express..lololololololol Bye Billy!

Hitler was a great leader no matter which way you look at it, yes he did terrible terrible evil things, but that doesn't detract from the respect a man who got an entire country to go along with such deeds, deserves.

Guess it was lucky it wasn't a shoe bomb...can only imagine the headlines then!

The best thing of all he did was to bring Germany out of the great depression. There were some who had to pay the price for though.

Just, and only just. (Thats also after the allies literally ripped it in half)
Any analytical or combat expert will tell you that even with the "mighty" US backing, the allies were less than 2 weeks from being defeated across the board.
Luck has more to do than anything with the state of Germany after the war.
Had Germany and its allies won, the country would have been in a very different state.
