New fan game + clan news

We have a new fan made game on the Open Source section of the download database. The link was sent via the games designer Juan Fernando.

The game itself does have english instructions and is a very fun game, small download as well, just under 3mb

It looks a little like StarFleet Command 1 and where is that link.I see the link is on the main page.There is one thing about that game and it is the download when you click on it it come up as 404 error or or it not there.Katherine can you look into this as I posted this over at D.net linking it to the main front page and some were wanting to download it.Thanks

This game is clearly a violation of the Original SFC EULA

It would be a whole different ball game if the source code for any SFC game (Original SFC, SFC II: EAW and SFC II : OP, this does not include SFC 3) was released, but currently it is not. As such, EULA is still in effect for all SFC games.

I posted the EULA enough over at STGD when fighting over the SFC 3 Beta patches.. Yet people still choose to post material that is under EULA Copywrite protection.. the screen shot on STGD on the front page is all that is needed to know that the game was ripped from components of SFC (either screen shots or reverse engineering the code), the language is done in spanish, however the Font is Taldren's. It uses SFC's shield status display, the Sprites.q3 weapons icons, and probably the rendering engine or Model Viewer components for the display.. I haven't downloaded it to see if it uses the *.mod file structure for the models it is displaying or if it is using screen shots to represent ships.

Katherine, I believe this and all content of this game should be removed any links to it and this thread removed as well as what is on the front page.Lets concentrate on Destiny's Wind and have Leia give us some reports on any latest  developments on it.

We are reporting news on the front page of the site. We are not making the game. Kindly take your legal threats to the game developer.  While your at it, maybe you should go to GameSpy industries as www.strategyplanet.com ran with the story as well.

To be perfectly blunt i am getting sick fed up with peopel in this community trying to dictate how we should run this site, a site which predates most other trek gaming sites on the net.  As for Lang, if it wasnt for Vic and Watertiger dragging him out of obscurity most of the fleets would still think he was a tea boy at Viacom.
